Case study

Broadcast, commentary and trackside: Vertex at Sepang, ROTAX MAX and the Bahrain Grand Prix.

A sim racing rig is only as convincing as the people operating it understand real motorsport. Vertex's team works real race weekends — broadcast, commentary and crew — which is exactly where that standard comes from.

Broadcast-grade production is the same discipline whether it's a sim rig or a real race weekend.

It's easy for a sim racing rental company to talk about realism. It's a different thing to have a team that spends race weekends working real motorsport — because that's where the standard for "realistic" actually comes from, and it's the standard Vertex holds every bespoke build and activation to.

Sepang International Circuit: broadcast and commentary for ROTAX MAX

Vertex provides broadcast production and live race commentary for the ROTAX MAX series at Sepang International Circuit — one of the longest-running karting pathways in Malaysian motorsport, and the circuit most Malaysian drivers cut their teeth on before moving into cars. Calling a live karting race and producing its broadcast means understanding racecraft at a level that doesn't come from watching motorsport from a distance: where overtakes actually happen, how a race is won in the final sector, what a driver under pressure looks like from the outside.

You can't fake knowing where the race is actually won. Either you've called it live, under pressure, or you haven't.

Formula 1: on the ground at the Bahrain Grand Prix

Vertex has also sent a team to the Bahrain Grand Prix itself — on the ground for the race weekend, providing content capture and crew support at the pinnacle of the sport. Working an actual F1 weekend, even in a support capacity, means operating inside the pace, pressure and professionalism of the highest level of motorsport in the world. It's a different register entirely from producing content from a studio, and it shapes how we approach every production afterward, sim racing included.

Porsche holds us to its own standard

That same discipline is why brands like Porsche — among the most demanding names in real-world motorsport — have trusted Vertex to run racing simulator activations to their standard, not a scaled-down "it's just a sim" version of it. The liveries are accurate, the hardware is dialled in before the gates open, and the people operating it understand exactly what they're representing.

What this means for a client booking Vertex

None of this is backstory for its own sake. It's the reason a Vertex-run activation — whether it's a rental fleet at a mall, a bespoke flagship rig, or a VRC track built from scratch — gets operated with the same seriousness as a real race weekend. The team setting up your corporate activation on a Tuesday morning is, within the same month, often the same team calling a live race or working trackside at a Grand Prix.
